Welsh Tories call for Official Language Status
The Welsh Conservatives are calling for Welsh to be given ‘official language status’, according to their posting on their website. In addition to this, they are also pushing for a review of the Welsh Language Act.
“As it stands English is the de facto official language of Wales. Conservatives want to give Welsh that same status, enshrined in law.”
“Welsh Conservatives are determined to promote the rights of speakers of both our national languages.”

Welsh Conservatives also want to encourage, rather than compel, the private sector to offer Welsh language services.
But the party insists that it would not be practical to force firms, especially small companies, to use both Welsh and English.
Not really radical to enshrine in law that firms can not be forced more like a backward step.
