Welsh Airport Development
Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, in his blog “The professor who shoots from the hip“, discusses the possibilities for the development of a new major international airport within Wales. As Dylan points out, he is not talking about Cardiff Airport but the creation of a new one situated ‘to the east of Newport’.
Developing such an airport, of a similar size to Gatwick, has the potential to created in the region of 45,000 direct jobs and bring in £1.25 billion into the local economy.

Now this would be great for those of us trying to travel into Wales. It’s something of a nightmare to get from Heathrow to Cardiff by air. I really hope they’ll seriously consider implementing a new airport or improving Cardiff to handle international traffic.
