Feel Chatty?

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Best think twice about it if you’re driving around Britain. They’ve doubled the fee if you’re caught rabbiting away on your hand-held mobile whilst driving. The odd thing that struck me about this article was the comment that hands-free mobile users would be cited as well if they were not in control of their […]

New Watersports Centre in the Works for Swansea Bay

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Plans to re-vitalize the waterfront in Swansea will include a new sports centre. Focusing on “adrenaline sports” such as wind surfing and water-skiing, the Sports Park will be part of a “revamp” of five miles of Swansea coastline. Plans include, among other things, new tourist and family-oriented attractions, Mumbles Pier and Blackpill Lido. […]

Jones Takes a Hit for Wales

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Stephen Jones, in his first year Captaining Wales in Six Nations has taken some heavy hits from the press after the Wales-Scotland face off on the 10th. “The criticism is frustrating from a personal aspect and from a team perspective,” remarked Jones.
But he’ll be getting some help for the remainder of the 2007 […]

Road Charges?

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Apparently so. Appears the congestion on Welsh roads is such that the authorities are looking at charging for use of the main roads in Wales. As you might imagine, this is not a popular idea with over 1.5 million people putting their pen to paper and signing a petition against the idea. […]

Letter Bomber Suspect Arrested

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

Well, thankfully, the police have rounded up someone they believe may be responsible for the letter bombs of recent weeks (you may recall one was set off in a Swansea VLA). As is usual, neighbors reported the suspect, Miles Cooper of Cherry Hinton (near Cambridge), is a quiet lad and not someone you’d expect […]

The Grand Canyon Skywalk

Friday, February 16th, 2007

The Grand Canyon has always been a tourist attraction but now there’s the new Skywalk. Under construction 4,000 feet above the Colorado River, the Skywalk will enable tourists to walk out 70 feet from the edge of the Canyon on a glass walkway.
Now that’s something I’ll want to visit when it’s finished!

Wales vs. Scotland - One Woman’s Opinion

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

Well, I must admit that I knew the final score of the game before tuning in to watch the delayed broadcast that we get in our location. I was prepared to do a few crossword puzzles and take a short nap for the 80 minute duration of play. However, I wasn’t prepared for the […]

Keep Burberry British!

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

The ongoing campaign to Keep Burberry British sometimes falls out of the media spotlight but our valiant friends in the Rhondda make sure it’s not out of there for long.
Take for example the Demonstration organised by the team at Treorchy and held in London, outside Burberry’s premier London stores - this again drew national coverage. […]

Snow Still Leads the Headlines

Friday, February 9th, 2007

And I think that rather than rabbit on, I’ll just give you a chance to enjoy the same things I did this morning; the family snow photos everyone is posting on the web. Seems people all round Wales are having great fun building snowmen and taking lovely photos of friends, family and landscapes all […]
