Medical Facilities in Wales
As sort of a follow up on an earlier article I posted regarding a new medical centre in Cardiff, an article on BBC today notes the lack of facilities for Welsh cancer patients. Stating that services are “over-stretched” and “over-complicated”, the assembly health committee review goes on to say that there is a “shortfall” in basic cancer treatments such as radiotherapy. They place some blame for this on confusion as to the roles of the various local health boards, regional cancer networks and other organizations with the NHS. Exacerbated by a lack of beds and facilities for patients and medical service providers, this all adds up to insufficient care for those requiring treatment for cancer. The study made several recommendations for improving the current situation.
