The night brought a blanket of beautiful snow to Wales and people woke up to the rare sight of fields of white. The largest snowfall was in South Wales where the accumulation was as much as a half a foot in some areas. Unfortunately the snow brought very cold temperatures with it making for difficult travel conditions and many, many school and business closures.

The weather seems to be letting up in South Wales with the coming of the day, but North Wales is expected to continue receiving snow until this evening.

The main concern seems to be regarding ice that is likely to form this evening as temperatures drop.
