Feel Chatty?
Best think twice about it if you’re driving around Britain. They’ve doubled the fee if you’re caught rabbiting away on your hand-held mobile whilst driving. The odd thing that struck me about this article was the comment that hands-free mobile users would be cited as well if they were not in control of their vehicle. I mean how would they know if you don’t have a phone stuck in your ear?
I guess, however, that they can now track back phones that were engaged at the time of any accident so you’re not likely to get away with it in any event.
Anyway, things are cracking down in an effort to eliminate mobile-phone related deaths and injuries. I know we all do it, chatter away on the mobiles whilst driving, but I do think it’s is a good thing to ban the practice. At the very least it will cause drivers to actually go the speed limit instead of 15 miles under it! And I can certainly attest to having wished more than once that a fellow driver would hang up and pay attention.
