Plaid Cymru Promises Living Wage

Should they prove successful winning power in the upcoming elections, Plaid Cyrmu has plans in the works for a “National Living Wage” among a great many other improvements geared toward citizens of Wales. Pledging the Plaid assembly government would be “the most open and transparent administration in Europe” Ieuan Wyn Jones also announced a plan to hold some cabinet meetings in public and suggested that the new wage scheme would be higher than the UK minimum wage. Good news for Welsh people working for minimum wage and struggling to keep their heads above water.

Plaid’s “Make a difference” manifesto includes a number of improvements and changes to priority policies previously announced. Changes in medical care, environmental quality, child care, assistance for first-time home buyers and help for Welsh university and college students in the repayment of their student loans are but a few in Plaid’s “seven for ‘07″ priority policies.
