Well, at least they’re finally fixing the bloody thing!!
I can’t tell you what a thrill it is to ride the bus from Swansea to Cardiff after waiting for an hour an a half for the train that never left because the signal broke between Abertawe and Caerdydd. In fact, I don’t even want to remember the bus ride from Swansea to Cardiff that hot August day - it was just that much fun!
The driver did take the scenic route, mind, but that did little to improve the mood of the passengers who’d been hanging about for an extended period of time expecting to travel in some level of comfort.
I can’t believe it’s taken this long to resolve the problem. But there we are. It has. And, in fact, it’s taking even longer than expected according to Network Rail and so Arriva and First Great Western will be busing people through the weekend and into the first part of next week. So be prepared to suffer more delays and round-about commutes. You can figure on adding at least an hour to your travel time.
But hey, at least they’ll finally get it fixed! So there is a silver lining someplace in there.
