The powers-that-be in Swansea are ready to begin the City Centre Core Retail Area remodel, so be prepared to deal with some inconvenience as they repave streets throughout the city centre. The project is expected to take 23 weeks to complete and should bring some significant improvements to the downtown area.

The city has set up a website with regular updates so you can keep track of what they’re up to and decide whether you really wanted to go there this week or not. Also on that page, you’ll find a downloadable PDF that gives the areas affected and the dates the work will be done in each area.

I’m being a bit silly, but it’s actually a well needed project and when complete, I think will make a big difference in the way things look in Swansea. All-in-all I’m really impressed with the way the whole Swansea area is moving forward, and how quickly they’re managing to do it. My hat’s off to them as it’s a beautiful city and can only get better!
