Darker Dark Chocolate from Cadbury’s?

You bet. And after this past weekend’s horridly disappointing rygbi, wherein not only did my beloved Ospreys lose but everyone else I like did too, this comes as brilliant news! I could use a pick-me-up about now.

In an effort to beef up their sales (my words not theirs) Cadbury’s has decided to enhance their century old dark chocolate recipe with a bit more of the substance that rings my chimes, floats my boat, turns me on (need I say more?), 60% cocoa. Hallelujah and Saints be Praised!

Unfortunately for me the fans of dark chocolate that were quizzed after a taste test said they weren’t terribly impressed. Martin Christy, editor of the chocolate connoisseur’s website seventypercent.com, described the new chocolate bars as “….. it’s like eating compost or wet wood.”

Not really what I was hoping for. unhappy smilie

I have to agree with those who have tried it. I tried it. It had a slightly bitter taste and a strange texture. Not the usual Cadbury’s and not a good chocolate bar by any standard of mine.

Sorry, I’ll send you a Hershey bar if California does not have them.
