More Improvements on Tap for Swansea
Continuing along on the revitialization effort, Swansea Council is taking proposals for improving the Bae Abertawe shore front to the public for a six week comment period. The Council agreed Monday past to use the Swansea Bay Strategy as a basis for gathering input surrounding the future of the seafront from Mumbles to Swansea city centre.
With an eye toward developing tourism, the plan hopes to “maintain the natural environment” whilst utilizing and improving existing features such as Mumbles Pier and a new nature area at Blackpill Lido. A new cycle and walking footbridge to help people get from the path on one side of Oystermouth Road to the other is also included. (Anything helping anyone to cross that road is a God send!) The Strategy also includes the new sports centre and waterfront park. All of this will be accessible via the promenade.
It really is an exciting project and I hope it comes to fruition. I also hope they manage to do something about the horrific traffic through Oystermouth.
But then we all have our dreams.
