Topics Near and Dear to My Heart

Namely wildlife and the environment. Throw in Swansea as the icing on the cake and you know I’m in 7th Heaven!

This weekend (June 9) will give everyone in Swansea a chance to get expert advice on creating wildlife habitat from BBC Presenter Iolo Williams and a team of nature conservationists and wildlife experts.

The Swansea Council’s Nature Conservation Team, among others, will join with Williams to launch the new series, BBC Breathing Places - Cities, with the Springwatch event; ‘Do one thing’ for wildlife in Swansea.

Williams states, “”The day will give us the opportunity to talk to the public about conservation issues….And this is one of the best locations we could go to. Swansea Bay is a place where we can see so many different species of wildlife all year round…..Swansea also has Gower which is a fantastic place for wildlife. Infact there’s nowhere better in Wales.”

Of course I couldn’t agree more!

But beyond my personal feelings about Swansea, I’m delighted to see so much effort going into the preservation and enhancement of this beautiful environment. If you need more information, you can contact Deb Hill or Jo Mullett at the Council’s Nature Conservation Team on 01792 635784, or the National Waterfront Museum on 01792 638950.
