Say What?
Well, as you all know by now, I’m not the least bit opinionated when it comes to rygbi and politics (yeah right Arwen). But today’s CNN quick report really got my goat. Here are the headlines:
GOVERNMENT REPORT: AL QAEDA STRONGEST SINCE SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
Can you see my stunned expression from there? Certainly not stunned because I had never expected this to be the case. But stunned because it took the idiots in the White House this long to figure it out!!!
The lead-in continues: “Al Qaeda is the strongest it has been since the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, a new U.S. government analysis concludes, according to a senior government official who has seen it.” That was this morning.
Now this afternoon they’ve graciously informed us there are plans afoot for attacks in the U.S. Now, why doesn’t this surprise me? Of course we’ve formed committees to investigate and the politicians are all posturing to be the first to explain that they knew all along this was the case.
Somehow this startling news just does nothing to make me feel better about the tons of dollars thrown into the garbage heap…erm…spent to disband and destroy Al Qaeda and reconstruct Iraq. But heck, we can throw away a few hundred thousand more lives and bucks now that we are back to square one with the terrorists.
I’m quite sure that at this very moment there are sure to be individuals in Corporate America and high-level political positions who are formulating a whole new set of strategies for ripping off the American public in the never-ending war against terrorism.
Wonder what will happen when the taxpayers run out of money……
