Well, they’re at it again!

In an effort to improve carrying capacity on South Walian trains, the lengthening of platforms at 42 stations got underway this week.

Starting in Pontypridd, the £13.2 million revamp has already caused problems for travelers with many left standing about Taffs Well station waiting to be bused into Cardiff. And we all know how I feel about crowded replacement buses! So I won’t belabour that again.

Unfortunately, the folks in Pontypridd, Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil, Treherbert and points in between are probably sharing my feelings as we speak since buses are replacing their trains into Taffs Well. One woman found herself, after a miserable bus ride, stuck in the Taffs Well station more than an hour after leaving home for work in Cardiff. Another woman was already 45 minutes late to work when they did the interview because the buses either weren’t going the right direction or were too full by the time they reached her stop.

Now really people, couldn’t you have done a study or something BEFORE you started the project? At least then you’d have known how many buses you actually need as opposed to taking a wild guess at it. Smilie rolling its eyes
