Autumn…
This morning was the second magnificent autumn morning in a row. Cold and crystal clear, I left early for school to make my 9:00 a.m. history class.
Once parked, my walking route takes me past a large field populated with ancient oaks and beautiful rolling, deep green lawns. The field slopes gently up to the Singleton Abbey and provides good hunting and a safe haven for birds of all kinds. It’s one of my favorite places on campus.
Without many people around, the morning was very quiet and the rising sun shone brightly down upon the middle of the the field. It’s warm rays heating the the grass, wet from the morning dew. As they warmed, the plants gave up their moisture to the air and a soft mist rose above the surface to hover a few feet above the field, motionless in the still air.
I slowed my pace and stopped for a moment. I don’t think I could have passed it by without doing so. For it was one of those special moments that come so infrequently to us yet remind us of the beauty of the seasons and the world around us.
I’m glad to have been blessed with that moment in time. For it will never be again and had I not been so lucky as to have been there, it would have been lost to me. Instead, I have a lifetime memory of a very special morning in Southwest Wales.

That brings back memories of my time in Swansea.
