Brilliant!
Well, the Ospreys lived up to their ability last night against Gloucester. And I must say, fatherhood seems to agree with Gavin Henson as I think he’s played better since his daughter was born than he has for a couple of years now. Well done Gavin!
(On a side note, whilst researching facts for this blog entry I came across this article - looks like I’m far from alone in making the father/daughter correlation!)
With Six Nations right around the corner and last night’s game under our belts, my faith in our lads’ ability to nail another Grand Slam victory has been restored. I’m always optomistic at this time of year, but I don’t think the Welsh teams have been playing as well as they could the first part of the season. But now we’ve a great opportunity to set the pace of Six Nations play. There’s no doubt in my mind that we will hit the ground running at the top of the pack as we’ll play England first shot out of the barrel. I think if the lads can play the way the Gweilch did last night, it’s in the bag already.
In spite of my reservations about the new Wales coach, I do like what he’s said so far. I agree that Welsh players should play in Wales if they want to be part of the Wales pack. Makes sense on a number of fronts. Although I’m still in a wait-and-see mode, new blood in the form of Gatland could turn out to be a Godsend to Welsh rugby. I sure hope so because the ability is here, the talent is here and there’s no reason why the trophies shouldn’t be here as well.
