St. Valentine’s Day
And the City and County of Swansea is making it especially special for the couple being married in the registry office today. They’ve set up a weblink so everyone can enjoy the moment with them. Kind of a neat thing for those tying the knot today. You can try and have a look via this link to their webcam page. I say “try” because it says on the page that it’s limited to 20 concurrent users. Perhaps they’ll bump that up for today.
In case you had any doubts, it’s been said that the Welsh are incurable romantics. Have a look at this article from 2005. Sadly, though, it seems things have changed just a tad since then, as according to this article, you guys haven fallen down on the job and the men in South Wales are no longer considered the most romantic. Pity. :O(
So what have you got planned with your partner? How about dinner at the National Wetland Centre Wales at Penclacwydd, near Llanelli? They’ve a special three course meal with champaigne and a rose for your lady. Check out the details and contact info here.
For a fun take on potential gifts, have a look at this article from today’s icWales. I particularly enjoyed this passage “Underwear? The margin for error is wider than the Long Lonely Highway on which I’ll be travelling with a thong necktie flapping in the wind.”
But how about advice for those of us who haven’t a partner - tis a hard day to be alone, that’s for sure. For that and other good tidbits to handle everything from new relationships to having just been dumped, icWales offers us this piece.
And finally, this quote from yet another article on romantic St. Valentine’s Day, “But Merthyr residents are finding the idea of their town as a hot spot for passion a little hard to believe……When told of the accolade, the news was greeted with looks of amazement, and even laughter.” Seems Merthyr has been voted the third most romantic place in Britain.
Now you know where to eat, what to say, what to buy and what not to give. So there we are men of South Wales. No more excuses! :O)
Happy St. Valentines Day to all of you!
