And Since Sheep are the Topic of the Day…

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

A harrowing rescue was pulled off by the coastguard off the cliffs above Rhossili this past week when Jess, one sheep and a taxi driver suddenly found themselves with a beautiful ocean view from their less-than-desirable vantage point halfway down the cliff face.
Sounds like a good sheep joke, doesn’t it?
Syd Anderson from Tycoch, the dog’s […]

Okay, this is spooky

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

All those film trailers that you’ve sat through, the deep voice, the menace, the tension… Now meet the man behind the voice! Quite a funny video here showing the man himself, Don LaFontaine:

Looks like it was originally from the ABC Network in the US.

I love it when people laugh

A funny video of a US news reader having a good old laugh. That kind of laughter is the best!

Think Your Expensive Cologne is What Turns on the Girls?

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Think again!
Whilst researching my response to a thread on ForumWales recently regarding personal space, I stumbled upon a website that discussed body language. An embedded link led me to a page about human pheromones. They’ve gotten some interesting results through various studies:
“In one research project, men preferred women’s clean sweat odor over […]

Say What?

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Well, as you all know by now, I’m not the least bit opinionated when it comes to rygbi and politics (yeah right Arwen). But today’s CNN quick report really got my goat. Here are the headlines:
GOVERNMENT REPORT: AL QAEDA STRONGEST SINCE SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
Can you see my stunned expression from there? Certainly […]

Hot Weather Everywhere?

Friday, July 6th, 2007

But the UK I guess. I was sitting here this evening trying to think of what to write about when I heard the commentator on the evening world news talking about temperatures topping 100°F/38°C in Canada - some even hovering around the 111°F/44°C mark. And I’m here to tell you that is bloody […]

Good News About Alan Johnston!

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

Happily I just got this CNN update in my inbox. They didn’t give any more information but here’s a quote of the post:
“Abducted BBC reporter Alan Johnston is released in Gaza after more than 100 days in captivity, The Associated Press and Reuters report.”
So I went off to their website and found the latest […]

Cymru66 Runs In Wales

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

Steve, our blogging comrade over at Cymru66, has apparently been on ‘home turf‘ recently.
In addition to relaxing at such places as Hay-on-Wye, Penarth, St.Fagans and Cardiff Bay, he’s also taken part in a 10k race in Llanelli (Steve’s a running nut - a bit like me, but he seems to have more will power!).

The ATM is 40 Today

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Believe it or not, the ATM or ‘Cash Machine’ is 40 years old today.
The Cash Machine was invented by John Shepherd-Barron, a Scotsman, and the first one was installed on the 25th of June 1967 in Enfield, north London. This machine was installed in a branch of Barclays Bank and enabled customers […]

Arts in Action

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Now this I think is just terrific! Arts in Action will be sponsoring an exhibition of art at Swansea’s Guildhall in June and July. The exhibition will include art from young pupils in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot as well as artists and designers in their final year of study at Swansea Institute […]
