Isn't it possible to block names + IP addresses?
The same posters appear here time after time.
Also, with some other forums, you have to answer a simple question as part of the logging in process.
Would that be possible here?

Yes, sianco, those things are both possible. However, ForumLead is the only one empowered to change the logging in process, and he and Arwen are the only ones who can block names and IP addresses. Both of them are extremely busy and don't get on the forum much. Unfortunately, I have been away from home for more than a week and have had only sporadic opportunity to get on and delete the spam (the only way I have of helping it out), but I've been doing the best I can... :?

Couldn't ForumLead give you administrator rights? I'm a member of another forum which has four or five administrators.
This spam is really miserable + offputting!

Yes, he could, but he has not gotten around to it. My understanding is that he is kept very busy for long hours at his regular job, and has no time for the Forum when he gets home. I'm sorry it is getting so bad again; I'll keep after it as best I can. :?

My apologies to everyone!

I'm back after some crazy time in the 'real world'. I'm looking into things at the moment.

My thanks to Sionned for keeping back the tide of spam!
