Thank you. I think you are explaining for when I want to make one reply to one quote. But, what if I want to reply to several different areas within the post. Say, reply to the first two sentences, delete sentences 3 - 5, reply to sentence 6 & 7, etc.

If I read your earlier post correctly, I can delete 3 - 5 and then type in [quote=David], highlight sentences 6 & 7 and click the above quote button. Then, type my response. Am I right there?

Pressing quote in another person's post will take you to the compose message page with all their text already added between the quoting 'tags' -

Code: Select all
[quote]The quote in brackets before this sentence is a tag and the /quote at the end of this sentence closes the quote[/quote]

You can delete sentences 3 to 5, for example, without affecting the quote - as long as you don't delete the tags.

If you want to add something else from another post, just copy and past the text from the Topic Review panel, beneath the Post a Reply box in which you're typing, into your message. Then, highlight this new text and press the quote button - this will add the quote tags before and after the highlighted text. If you want to attribute the quote to someone, then you add the ="person" code in the front quote tag as shown previously.

Got that much.

Then, highlight this new text and press the quote button - this will add the quote tags before and after the highlighted text. If you want to attribute the quote to someone, then you add the ="person" code in the front quote tag as shown previously.

So far, so good.
